The current situation, prospects and challenges of knowledge management in China

"although knowledge management has achieved faster development in China, the level of knowledge management in Chinese enterprises is not optimistic." This is the conclusion from the "2005 China Knowledge Management survey report". This report, jointly released by it manager world, Computerworld, CFO magazine, Computerworld and Shenzhen Lanling company, is the first in-depth report that comprehensively and systematically presents the current situation and development trend of knowledge management application level in Chinese enterprises

Among them, the proportion of understanding knowledge management as "knowledge-based enterprise culture", "learning organization", "innovation management" and "sharing excellent practical experience" is relatively high; this shows that more and more enterprises hope that knowledge management can shape knowledge-based enterprise culture, cultivate learning organization, enhance enterprise innovation ability and strengthen enterprise sharing ability. 36.98% understand knowledge management as "an IT tool". Judging from the practice trend of knowledge management in the coming years, there are various colors, and no practice will become a very mainstream application

relatively speaking, enough attention has been paid to the "data to be mined and analyzed in the business system", which shows that when many enterprises have reached a certain level of information construction, the construction of enterprise business intelligence system will also become a key application of knowledge management. From the perspective of development trend, competitive intelligence, customer knowledge management and knowledge cooperation alliance will also become important application trends of institutional knowledge management

from the perspective of the value obtained from the practice of knowledge management, it is mainly reflected in "improving staff skills and knowledge", "improving staff work efficiency and productivity", "improving knowledge precipitation and storage", "helping to avoid repeated work" and "assisting in the improvement of the working mechanism and process of pouring mortar out of the mixing bag". 17.71% said that they had achieved significant financial gains; However, 14.24% of the institutions said that their knowledge management practices had not achieved significant benefits. institutions are still facing the biggest challenge of "lack of high-level understanding and promotion"; And "not integrated into business processes", "lack of necessary knowledge management skills" and "insufficient priority of knowledge management" are also the main obstacles that must be overcome in the implementation of knowledge management.
